Cocaine is a highly addictive drug derived from the leaves of the coca plant. It is often sold as a white powder and can be consumed in a variety of ways, including snorting, smoking, or injecting.

Cocaine is a stimulant that causes a rapid release of dopamine in the brain, a neurotransmitter responsible for the sensation of pleasure and reward. Cocaine use can lead to feelings of euphoria, heightened self-confidence, and increased energy, but can also cause unwanted side effects such as insomnia, paranoia, hallucinations, and aggression.

Cocaine is illegal in Germany and possession and use can lead to legal consequences, including Medical-psychological examination (MPU) if a person is caught driving a vehicle. An MPU is a procedure for testing driving ability and is usually ordered if a person has violated traffic regulations or has been convicted of drug or alcohol abuse.

If a person tests positive for cocaine during an MPU, this can lead to a refusal of a driver's license. Cocaine use can impair cognitive functions and reaction times, which can make driving dangerous. An MPU can also be ordered to check whether a person is on the way to Abstinence and whether she has taken the necessary steps to overcome her drug addiction.
