What are the 10 most important MPU questions?

ATTENTION:

The questions follow a fixed structure, but in the MPU they are also individualized. The answers, in particular, must always be processed individually and on a case-by-case basis.

Questions of an alcohol MPU

In a Alcohol MPU You must convince the MPU examiner that you will either live a permanently abstinent life (corresponding proof of abstinence according to CTU criteria is then required) or that you have been consuming alcohol in a controlled manner for a longer period of time (usually at least for 6 months) - practicing so-called "controlled drinking" and intend to maintain this permanently.

In an alcohol-related medical-psychological assessment (MPU), you must describe the offense(s), your drinking history, your motivation for drinking, and the changes in your behavior. Furthermore, you should be able to identify specific risks of relapse and explain how you will manage these risks in the future to prevent relapse. A motivation for the described behavioral changes that is independent of your driver's license is also required.

Questions of a drug MPU

In the vast majority Drug MPUs You must convince the psychological assessor that you will permanently abstain from narcotics in the future. Since April 1, 2024, cannabis use has been legal in Germany, and abstinence is not always mandatory for a positive MPU (Medical-Psychological Assessment). In many cases, therefore, proof of abstinence is no longer necessary. For your drug-related MPU, you do not need any documentation or proof of abstinence for 6, 12, or 15 months. (Do I need 6, 12 or 15 months of abstinence?)Please clarify this with a traffic psychologist. During the MPU interview, you must first describe the offense(s) and your drug history.

In the further course, you must plausibly explain your motivation for using drugs and the changes in your behavior. You should be able to identify specific risks of relapse and describe in detail how you will manage these risks in the future without relapsing. Motivation that is independent of a driver's license is also required.

MPU questions of a points MPU

In an MPU (Medical Test for Driving Licence Points), it's important that you can describe in detail every single offense on your record (e.g., every speeding violation). Your descriptions are the first indicator the psychological examiner will use to assess how well prepared you are for your medical-psychological examination.

In the further course of the examination, you must describe in detail which behaviors, incorrect attitudes, and conditions contributed to your misconduct in traffic. Finally, you must convince the examiner that these very causes have changed for the better. Often, MPU trick questions such as: “Are you a good driver?” For more information, see Points MPU.
