How to pass the MPU: 3 things that determine success or failure

Whether you are Alcohol MPU, Drug MPU, Points MPU or Criminal offenses MPU must – three things are crucial in every preparation. Our Traffic psychologists In practice, we repeatedly experience that these very points make the difference: between a positive report – or failure.

Many affected individuals are ashamed of their alcohol consumption, drug use, or misconduct while driving. They often downplay what happened—both to themselves and in discussions with traffic psychologists. But this is precisely what delays the process of recovery.

Important: Be honest – from the very beginning. No one at the MPU Academy will judge you. Shame is human, but it shouldn't hinder the process. The more open you are, the faster and more successful your preparation will be.

2. Take responsibility – instead of seeing yourself as a victim

“Why me? Other people do it too.” Such thoughts are understandable, but they don’t help. Whether it’s alcohol, drugs, points or criminal offenses – anyone who has to take the MPU has crossed the line.

The rules of the road are there for your safety and that of those around you. Seeing oneself as a victim prevents real change. Taking responsibility, on the other hand, demonstrates insight and a willingness to critically examine what happened, taking a psychological approach. This is exactly what the MPU examiner expects.

3. Get involved in the conversations with the traffic psychologist – even if it is unusual

In the MPU consulting It's not just about the crime itself. It's also about your... biographyWork-related stress or personal problems are often part of the conversation. This may seem unusual at first, but it's important.

Denn: There are deeper causes behind most traffic offenses. Those who recognize and address these issues can credibly demonstrate that something has truly changed. And that is precisely what is crucial for a successful MPU.

Start now – every week counts!

Regardless of whether Alcohol MPU, Drug MPU, Points MPU or Criminal offenses MPU The path to regaining a driver's license begins with proper preparation. And that takes time, especially if proof of abstinence is required.
